Event Notice: Angela Duckworth Sept. 13

The Andover community is excited to welcome Dr. Angela Duckworth to campus for her keynote address, “What is Character?” on Wednesday, September 13, at 6:30 p.m. The doors will open for the event at 6 p.m. Registered guests should arrive early to ensure a seat in the Chapel for this popular event. Seating in Cochran Chapel is available on a first come, first serve basis. Overflow seating with a livestream of the event will be available in Kemper Auditorium, which is a short walk from the Chapel. Anyone who is unable to attend the event in person is also welcome to join virtually through the livestream.

Book Signing
Dr. Duckworth will be available for a book signing immediately following her keynote address. A limited supply of books will be available for on-site purchase; cash or check payments will be accepted. Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance is also available to purchase through Amazon and a number of other local and online book dealers.

Event Parking
The closest campus parking for the event is the parking lot behind the Andover Inn and the Graves Hall lot. Supplemental parking is also available at the Memorial Gym and the Abbot Campus lots. Signs from these lots will direct you to the event. View a map of campus parking for more information.

Whether you are planning to be in the live audience or to join remotely, please make sure to connect throughout the event via social media. Participants are encouraged to use the event hashtag #WhatIsCharacter to share questions, comments, or photos. Andover students will be managing the social media for the event and will choose the last one to two questions for the Q+A session from questions submitted online through #WhatIsCharacter.
