Scientific Learning: Measuring Outcomes in Generative, Experiential Science Courses

Project Overview

Christine’s project is focused on identifying and assessing learning outcomes for students in our advanced biology (BIOL-500) and molecular biology research (BIOL-600) courses. She hopes to gather preliminary data in preparation for a more formal study in 2017-2018, aimed to identify learning outcomes relevant for teachers across the Division of Natural Sciences as well as those at other institutions. The overarching goal is to identify and nurture specific attitudes and behaviors that promote academic maturation in our students while strengthening their love of learning.
