Portugal: Performing in the World

Collaboration is at the heart of our performance curriculum. As part of the music department’s performance mission, we continue to take our music students off campus to perform and interact with musicians from around the world. Traveling as an ensemble provides students in the music department with time to cultivate even deeper relationships.

This year the chamber orchestra and select choir will travel to Portugal to perform in the cities of Porto, Figueira da Foz and the capital city of Lisbon.  Students will give three performances during their stay. They will also have free time to explore the distinct culture of each city.  They will cruise the Douro River, visit the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district and will participate in a local outreach program in Lisbon.
