Join in Discussions with John Marks ‘61, P’95

International leader in peacebuilding will visit campus November 8, 9

John Marks ‘61, P’95, best-selling author and founder of Search for Common Ground, a peacebuilding NGO, will host several discussions at Phillips Academy, on Wednesday, November 8, and Thursday November 9, 2017. Topics will include social entrepreneurship, media production for social change, and peacebuilding. These events are open to all members of the community:

Social Entrepreneurship Discussion | Pearson Hall, Room C

The Entrepreneurship Club at Andover will convene a discussion with Marks, on Wednesday, November 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Pearson Hall, Room C.  

Dinner and Discussion | Freeman Room, OWHL

Marks will lead a Dinner and Discussion on peacebuilding and conflict resolution with the Phillips Academy community on Wednesday, November 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Freeman Room at the OWHL. Andover’s Learning in the World Global Ambassadors will introduce his presentation.

Lunch and Discussion | Pearson Hall, Room C

On Thursday, November 9, from 12:10 to 1:30 p.m., there will be a Lunch and Discussion on themes related to Learning in the World programs with Marks and LITW Program Leaders.

Marks is eager for other opportunities to hear from Andover students during his visit. He also founded Common Ground Productions and is still a senior advisor to both organizations. He is a best-selling, award-winning author, a former US Foreign Service member, a Skoll Awardee in Social Entrepreneurship, and an Ashoka Senior Fellow. The UN’s University of Peace has awarded him an honorary PhD.
