Catherine Kemp joined the Phillips Academy faculty in 2014. In 2019, she became a Tang Fellow, launching Redesigning BIO100: Creating an Accessible and Inclusive Model for Inquiry-Focused Learning. She is delighted to be able to combine so many of her interests into one magnificent job.
As a research scientist, Kemp has blended genetics and environmental studies over a career that includes stints at the National Institutes of Health and Oregon Health & Science University. Her interest in education led to multiple teaching and intern mentorship jobs, and she has designed outreach programs with high schools while doing graduate work in California. She has a lifelong passion for rowing. In addition to coaching at Andover, she is active with Dartmouth Alumni rowing (as both a coordinator and athlete) and is an active USRowing licensed referee.
